Abandoned House

World sleeps when the devil awakes

Children snore while the owl surfaces

Wolves cry when the night is dark

Ghosts wander into the empty park

The old tree shrugs off its dead leaves

Night grows colder than you can believe

The abandoned house opens the door

At 3 am, there’s no uproar

And then the house comes back to life

There is commotion, there is strife

They come back if only for a while

Unhappy, they disapprove their exile

But the horror starts to fade

As the rays of the sun hit the gate

They all go back into the ground

Till the clock turns around

Forgetting the deeds of the day gone by

Only to rise again, tonight.
